Ion Encoder Wheels affect each other

I'm behind the board, so I didn't do an in-depth search for this, so if I'm repeating someone else's question, I apologize.

I'm changing CMY colors in some VL2500s using the encoder wheels on an Ion. If I'm scrolling the Cyan while simultaneously scrolling either the Magenta or Yellow (so scrolling the furthest left while simultaneously scrolling the 2nd and 3rd from left), the Cyan (left) while change in the direction I'm scrolling the whichever other I'm scrolling.

So if I'm scrolling the Cyan down while scrolling yellow up, it'll scroll both Cyan and Yellow up. If I stop the Cyan, it'll stop until I start scrolling it again.

Is this normal? Is there something I can do to fix it? I'm working on someone else's board, so there's not much I can change now, only tell them for the future, but it's running software 1.9.1.9.0.30, if that helps.

thanks!

  • First, sorry about the delay in replying.  Well, you have discovered a bug.  Very interesting one, at that.  It's on the list.

    Thanks for reporting this.

  • I have a similar problem on EOS consoles. I noticed one encoder movement affect another first when working with the shutter blades on VL1000 & 3500. Adjustement for one blade was finished going on to the next the opposite one was also moving when I moved the encoder. One time it even affected the pan and tilt when I was working on shutters.

Have no idea under wich conditions it happens and when not ´cause the problem´s not allways there but had it several times.

Working on an EOS 8192, software version 1.9.6.9.0.3, German translation version 1.9.0.1.0.78 with another EOS in Network as Backup.

Even recognized the same problem on another EOS when working in another theater. Do not know wich software they were working with.

    Thanks for any help.
