Using Thru / Next grouping

I have an esoteric programming question about the ION

if I type

[1] [Thru] [6] [Enter] [Next] [@] [Full] [Enter] [Next] [@] [5] [Enter]

I get Ch.1 at full and Ch. 2 at 50 %

Now if I would like to bring the rest of the group (3-6) up to 80% ?

My first thought was to use:

[Next] [Thru] [@] [8] [Enter] but that gave me a syntax error.

Is there a simple way to to this?

Thanks

  • It's not quite what you're asking for, but how about:

1 Thru 6 at 8 Enter Next at Full Enter Next at 5 Enter

  • MWeeks728,

You just need to add the 'end of the range' there and you'll have it.

    [Next] [Thru] [6] [@] [8] [Enter]

    sk8rs dad,

Of course that would work, as there are usually many ways to accomplish something. But if you're working on a film or TV set, when a programmer is asked to set 1 @ full and 2 @ 50%, etc., we must set those levels and not change them until asked to. The Gaffer will see the first light level and think that is what he just called for. If you set it at a 'different' level, then seconds later change it to the 'proper' level, it may confuse the gaffer (& possibly the D.P.) Resulting in unneeded chatter on the radio. Literally seconds count big time in these situations. That's why with some shows it's a programming dance to give them what they ask for, while 'leaving' certain lights alone. Often we are 'on a bell' & rolling camera, when we get told to change channel(s) to different levels, or make the 'lights' do an effect. I hope that my explanation makes sense.

    Cheers,
