1.9.5 LED Color Mixing

Thanks for adding the ability to mix amber in with the color mixer, it mixes in wonderfully!

However, I am seeing an issue with the color picker. With the saturation below 100%, most easily seen around 20% with my fixtures, the colors jump when rotating through the hue. It happens at hue 233, 359, 62, and 122. (ish) Watching the RGBA values, there are significant jumps in the values at these hues.

The problem exists in both the generic LED RGBA fixture profile, and the new ColorForce 72 profile that I was testing.

*EDIT* This is also very evident in Hue-Sat fade effects.

  • David, we will look into this.  A question.  Are you looking at this with a showfile programmed in an earlier build?

  • David, are you seeing the jumping with your fixtures as well as the color picker?  I am seeing it in the color picker when rotating through the Hue values with Sat set to 20.  The fixture dot is definitely jumping around in the color picker.  However, I don't have the fixture to actually see how the output is and just watching the output values doesn't confirm that jumping around in the output too.

I am not seeing the jumping with a hue-sat effect in the color picker, however?  Do you see it in the color picker and your fixture output for a HS effect?

    Thanks

  • Anne: Yes, it is a showfile built in the previous version. I believe it was 1.9.2?

speterson: I haven't actually noticed the dot jumping around the picker, where I notice it is the actual rgba values beside the color picker while adjust the color picker or hue/saturation on the encoders. Yes, I am seeing the fixtures jump around when they get to these points, both with manual selection with the color picker, encoders, and with hue-sat fade effects.

I will start a new 1.9.5 file, patch the instruments, and see if the issue is present.

  • I created a new file in the 1.9.5 software, and the issue is still present.

An example: With the saturation approx. 20%, changing the hue from approx. 59-61, the Green snaps from 79%-05%, and the Red snaps from 01%-79%. It appears on the fixture as well. (These are our cyc lighting instruments, so it is quite obvious that this is happening.)

  • Thanks for the information.  I will get it written up.
