Auto-Expanding Palettes

Okay, had a thought.  Would it be a viable option or would enough people see the need for this based on this scenario;

You program a palette that has pan and tilt for a bunch of lights, then realize after the fact that you really would have liked to have zoom and iris or a gobo always attached to that focus, but you have already recorded that palette (with only the original pan and tilt values) into many cues.  Could there be an option, should there, to update a palette with more parameters than were originally recorded and have that expand the programming wherever the fixture in that palette was used to include the additional parameters?

 What do you think?

  • That's a really interesting idea Jason - and something that could save you a lot of time.   A couple of possibilities.... it could be an option presented as soon as the palette is modified with new data .... or a function that is called separately.   Just curious.... how would you most likely add those changes.... as a live mode update?   If so, we could look at using an extension of the update dialogue box??

    Hmmmm..
