Conversion of Expression Shows to Ion

Is there a easy way to move moving fixture pan and tilt info from the Expression to the Ion.  I have a couple of shows that I need to convert.  I have already imported the cues via ASCII and created the moving lights in the patch.  I am using High End Studio Spot 575 fixtures.  On the Expression console I can see the 16 bit data.  Is there a way to enter that into the Ion or do I have to go back and  recreate each focus point?  I can create some custom excel spreadsheets to help with the conversion if there isn't a better way.  Thanks for your help

  • Hi there,

I was able to import the moving light data by using Import ASCII ->  Import as Library Fixtures.  This brought in the data and matched it up with both the scrollers and moving lights I had from a showfile.  It should automatically map everything over, including 16 bit parameters.  Is this what you're seeing?

  • I'm sorry it took me so long to get back to you but I have been on Vacation.  I had already tried the ASCII import, but I just tried it again to make sure.  The problem is that the ion looks at some of the fixture functions differently.  When I am working with a VL Moving Light in ION it is giving me the fixtures focus as a value between 7 and 30 degrees instead of 1-100 percent on the Expression.  It is even harder to convert the pan and tilt values.  -180 to 180 on the Ion is 0 to 100 16 bit on the Expression.  I am looking for a way to enter the percentage values into the ION directly.

    Thanks
