Applying a curve to a scroller

Hi again,

We here have Wybron Coloram II Scrollers with custom 26 frame strings. They sag a little in the middle but they do it consistently, so in the past, I have been able to build a subtle Curve (Profile) to make the frames line up where they are supposed to.  On the EOS, I have built the custom scroll with our house colors and I can see them on the encoder screen.  I have also built the curve I need, but it doesn't seem to be working on the scroller specifically.

As a test, I built a radical Curve and attached it to the Channel (one Dimmer and one Scroller.)  I can easily see that the intensity is affected, but there is no change in the Scroller.

I realize that the workaround will be to dial it all in and record Color Palettes, but then I would lose the cool encoder feature.  Besides, that is how I would have to do on the Strand Palettes and that's no fun.

Any Help?

  • Hey Brent.  I think the answer here is the scroller calibration utility that we will be adding to v1.3 (November release).      In the meantime.... well.... what you are doing is the best solution.

  • I have to say i am having the same problem and I am looking forward to the new scroller function.  When i was tring to fix the problem, before reading this post, I put the scroller in the correct frame and i wanted to see what the address data was for the scroller. I hit the data button and it remained the plus sign.  Is there a way to see what the current address output is on a scroller?

    Thanks

  • Todd,

You need to expand the Attributes of the Color display.  1st, be sure you are in a table or table stacked view (can't recall which one).  Then hold [Attribute] and press [Color]  This should expand the Color attribute to show all the data (in the bottom right touchscreen).  It could also be that it is not displaying the scroller info at all... In that case, when you press Attribute, you see the attributes that are being displayed as highlighted bubble in the bottom right touchscreen.  There is a bubble for Scroller that needs to be selected--it could be on the More screen of the color Attributes.  It will then show you the 1-255 value for the scroller.

This may be a bit cryptic, but i don't have the console in front of me at the moment--sorry.

    Hope that helps!
