blind, issue after select in tracksheet

hey there

i'm in blind, have formatted to have a spreadsheet view, select a channel, press select so i can navigate with the arrow keys. now i want to select a cue range, so i start to type cue 1 thru 5. but after the 1 the command line is cleared.

what am i missing?

cheers from switzerland

  • Felix,

On your console what version of the software are you running. I just tested this offline because I'm not near my console and it seemed to work fine. I went [Blind] [Format] [Cue] [1] [thru] [10] [Enter] and it selected all the cues with no problem, in the cue list without clearing the command line. I am running 1.9.6.

  • i'm on 1.9.6 too

what you write works for me too, it's later on that the problem starts: press "select" now and navigate with the arrow keys through the spread sheet. press "cue" now. it's posted to the command line. now press a number and that's when in my case the command line is cleared

    do you see the same?

  • I don't unfortunately. I had tried this exact same sequence of keystrokes and the command line is not working. I saw in a previous post you have an EOS and an ION which one are is it doing it on or both?

    Jared

  • Not quite clear on your sequence here, but you are trying to combine using in-cell editing with command line operation.  That doesn't really work.  When you press select, you are in in-cell edit.  As you can tell, the arrows move you through the display.  In in-cell editing mode (at the moment) the desk is working at a channel level and therefore range cue selection isn't possible.   The cleanest way to work is press [escape] before trying to select your cue range to leave in-cell edit mode.

    Hope that helps.

  • ok, fair enough. but just to understand: why does the desk allow me to press Cue, but not a number after that. would there be an allowed cue command without a number after cue? and if there is no possible command that would be allowed while in-cell, could a cue command be a way to automatically leave the in-cell editing? just asking...

    cheers, felix

  • Well, in-cell editing is actually not a completed feature.... that's one of the reasons it isn't documented.   It is on our list to fix all of the various issues with it.  I agree with you.  Posting cue to the command line should automatically exit in-cell mode.

    :-)
