Exiting Mirror Mode

Responding to another post just triggered my memory on what I consider a mirror mode bug, but....

When exiting Mirror Mode, the client machine holds onto the mirrored devices Display settings.

For example. RVI Client User 6

Channels NOT by 100 . NOT split by 5. Reference Lables turned off. Hight Contrast On.

ION User 1.

Chanel screen set to 100 grouped by 5. Reference Labels on. High Contrast On.

So if I as the RVI am with the above settings, then mirror the Main Ion, then exit mirror mode, I will be left with the display settings of the Ion.

I know that I can make a Snapshot, but I never seem to remember and technically i have to have an electrician come and do it and then assign it to a macro on my RVI buttons. But all of that is possible. I'm more curious.. is this expected behavior when exiting Mirror Mode?

  • Hi Ben.  Right now (as you have discovered), when you enter mirror mode, we are not saving the display conventions in place on the associated device.  So, when you exit mirror mode, the current settings are kept.  We have it on our to do list to save those settings and restore them when mirror mode is exited.  Until we do that, using a snapshot is your best option.

    Thanks much!

  • Thanks Anne,

My hesitation on  snapshops honestly has to do getting the board op down to the RVI to record me  a snapshot and put it into a macro for a face panel button. I've found that the line in most of the NYC houses is that I'm ok to tweak my display settings, but actually using record seems to be toeing the line of whats ok and not ok to do as an associate.

But I'm happy to know its on the list.

    Thanks,

    -Ben
