Ion - Updating cues without leaving added channels live.

Been scanning the manual for a specific answer but as yet haven't found one.

Running through a show list yesterday, I was adding channels to some cues, then re-recording them live - no problem there. However, how do I then release those channels so that when I move on to the next cue they're not still held as per the previous modification? At present I'm having to remember which channels I added and take them out again once the next cue is loaded which is a pain, especially if there are a number of channels involved...

Thanks

  • Hi Ynot,

Have you tried using update? Update will put any manual channels (channels that are RED) in to the cue you are currently in (or wherever you tell it to). Update will not leave the channels captured once the command is complete. The added channels will still be up however in the next cue however if you are in track mode and the channels don't have an out command in the next cue. If you only want the changes to update in that single cue, you can use the syntax [Update] [Cue Only]

    Hope that helps,

  • Hmmm..

Yes I have - that was my first attempt, but yes it DID leave the channels captured - though I did just use [UPDATE] [ENTER] [ENTER] - I'll try the [Update] [Cue Only] option shortly, as that certainly sounds logical.

    Thanks.

  • It sounds like you have "Auto Playback" disabled in Setup. To enable Auto Playback, go into Setup - Desk - Record Defaults, and click on Auto Playback (it is a toggle state).

    From the manual:

When cues are recorded they are automatically played back and manual values are released, unless auto playback on record has been disabled in setup

    Hope that helps.
