Disable bump buttons

Had a group in this week who were running their own lights. The operator asked if we could disable the bump buttons on the subs (which they were using for the show) so they could not be accidentally hit. For the life of me I could not find any way of doing this but seems like it could be useful. I know our Insight 3 had a setting in setup that allowed this. Ended up putting a ridiculous time on the bump button to get them through their show. Did I miss something?

Cheers,

  • Here is a work around that works if you really need to do this.

create an FX that does nothing and will not effect anything you need to do.  Patch a fake fixture into your show and apply the FX to that sub in the sub you need to use.  As long as the sub is still an additional (not inhibitive or an effect sub) the bump button will do nothing accept start and stop your FX, which does nothing.  The fader should continue to work for all the parameters that the FX is not acting on.
