Net 3 Radio Focus Remote Problems

We have been having quite a few issues with our remote.  Does anyone have any suggestions to the problems listed below?

1 -Re-boots itself within seconds of starting up.  Does this multiple times.

2 - If charging, will not turn back on unless it gets unplugged.

3 - Macros only respond after 2 or 3 trys.

The problems seem to be getting progressively worse.

Any thoughts?

  • Hi Jai

what version of software does the RFR have? Current Handheld version is v2.0.7

Have you swapped out the rechargeable batteries? It sounds like that have gotten run

down, and can't hold a charge. How old is the RFR? Its best to swap those two rechargeables

    out.

    Hope that helps

  • The Unit is 3 years old.  I will try swapping out the batteries.  Thank You!

  • Well, I tried updating both the remote and the base station.  The remote updated with no problem but every time I try to update the base station my offline client shuts down.  Also, now when I turn on my remote it says "ETC RFR Remote 2.07" but will not connect to the base station.  Anyone have any thoughts?

  • If you haven't updated the base station, then the remote won't find it.

Release Handheld RFR v2.0.2 + Base v2.0.0 (These two work together)

Release Handheld RFR v2.0.7 + Base v.2.0.2 (These two work together)

Also, check your settings on the remote, and make sure that it still broadcasting on the right frequency (matched to the one set in the Ion shell).  It's possible that updating cleared out unit's preferences.

Sorry but I can't help with the updating procedure.  I usually call ETC and have them walk me through it.  There are a few little details omitted from the instructions that mess up the installs (like you can't have the base station plugged to the console when trying to update the handheld).
