ion Console and RPU settings?

Dear Sir, Madam,

Recently we installed the ION Console (Master) and RPU (BackUp). (v 1.9.6). Press the Power button after the screen open the eos shell  window and need to select the Master or BackUp.

But our eos Console (BackUp) and RPU (Master) open details are:- eos RPU (Master), press the power button after the eos shell window open a few seconds after the show window opening automatically without pressing the Master or Backup button. But the eos console (BackUp) is open the eos Shell window and need to press the Backup button to open the show window.

The question 1 is:- why the ion Master is not open automatically without pressing the Master and Backup buttons? The first time selected the Master or Backup after why the console and RPU not save this for continuing power Off and On function? Any special settings need for this automatic opening without press the shell Master and BackUp buttons?

Question 2 is:- The ion console (Master) and RPU (Backup). Shutdown the Console (Master) after power On again. (This time the RPU (Backup is not shutdown). After open the Console (Master) show file, not synchronizing automatically with the RPU (BackUp) and not working properly. Again the Console and RPU, both shutdown and power on the Console (Press the Master button) and RPU (Press the BackUp button) after synchronizing both and working properly. Why its happened and how can configure the Backup and RPU properly without interrupt the show?

I am expecting your valuable answer.

Thanks from Ajaya Dubai

  • There is a setting in the shell settings windows that will let you boot the desk, and RPU directly into the application with outgoing through the shell. However I think that since you have a master/backup configuration you may have to go into network in the CIA browser to establish master/backup priority. I am unaware of a setting to always boot a device as master or backup.

On a side note, and for my curiosity. Why are you using the RPU as backup and the console as master.

  •

    Dear Sir,

I change the configuration of the RPU as (Master) and Console (Backup) and not activated the shell Settings options "Show Welcome Screen at Startup". Now Console and RPU boot without selecting the Primary or Backup.

Presently the Console ( Backup), open the Browser, File, Show file archive, open - after I can see the saved different show files in the folders and running show file too.  The console included one Master Folder and one old file. I don't want this old file and master folder in the console. I try to delete but  can't deleted the master folder from the console. How can I delete the Master folder from the console? Other all unwanted files can deleted from the Console. I open the Master folder, old file and select then press [Delete], but nothing happened. Why this happened? Previously we select the Console (Master) and RPU (Backup). No special answer of this selection and  according to the etc instruction, now I change the Console (Backup) and RPU (master).

The RPU, I can see the saved different show files and running show file too. Some old files saw there and deleted those unwanted files from RPU. Why, the Master Folder not create the RPU automatically after the Master configuration?

Our eos Console (backup) and RPU (master) and can see the Master folder in the RPU not in the Console.

I am expecting your valuable answer.

    Thanks

    Ajay

  • Hi Ajaya,

Whichever device is assigned as backup will give you the option to open the 'Master' folder. This Master folder is the show archive of whichever device is acting as the Master console in the system - in this case your RPU. So, if you don't have all your shows saved directly onto the hard disk of the Eos you are still able to open from the RPU over the network.

The Master folder is not a location on the Eos, hence why you can't delete it from there.

    I hope that makes sense.
