Ion Offline Cue Only Mode

Hello,

My school just purchased an Ion. I am working on a dance concert with several other student designers. I am trying to work on my cue in the offline editor while someone else works on the board. When I record any cue I track the levels through all my other cues both backwards and forwards. I am working only in intensity.  I am in cue only mode and am definitely not tracking. I have tried blocking every cue in the list and recording. I have tried to update cues.

I do not understand and while I can work around it now I would like to solve the problem for the future.

  • Jared - I am not working on my console I am working from my laptop. But yes it is definitely in Cue Only Mode.

David - The most common set of key strokes was [R], [X] 1 [B] Preshow [Enter].

    Thanks,

    Colleen

  • If your console is in Cue Only mode, and you're pressing the Cue Only/Track button ([x]), then you're toggling the behavior for that record command -- ie. recording in track.  If that's the case, you would see the word "Track" posted to the command line.

Even if you are tracking, you shouldn't see tracking levels back in the cue sequence unless you also issue a Trace command.

Don't know if this applies to you, but There has been some confusion in some other threads between blocking a cue -- which makes levels hard and prevents changes from tracking into the cue, and cue only -- which tells the console not to propagate changes to tracking levels.
