Console name is invalid (but isn't)

We've got a new(ish) Ion that we recently started using the iRFR app to remote control during work and focus calls. The only issue is that iRFR requires the console's name as the access password. Our console defaults to 'OEM' and a string of numbers any time the console is powered or logged off, and literally nothing I input into this field is considered valid by the configuration utility. The dialog box informing me so says I can only use upper and lowercase letters, numbers, and dashes, so why is 'Stage-Ion' an invalid name and why won't it remember it?

My guess is that this is just a bug, but I'm curious as to whether there's already a fix to this or whether it just hasn't been patched yet?

Thanks guys!

  • The name Stage-Ion should be valid, I just tried it here. When you enter the name, does it give you any indication that it didn't work, or do you have to restart to see that it wasn't changed?

Try it again, and after you click [Accept], it will ask you if you want to restart. Click [No], then [Settings] [maintenance] [save logs]. Then restart.

If the name did not change, from the shell, click [Settings] [Maintenance] and [save logs] again. Send both of these logs to eos@etcconnect.com, and they will help us determine why the name is not changing.
