Customize Direct Select on the Ion?

Depending upon the screen layout and what not - you can choose what type of direct selects are available.  (beam Palettes, Focus Palettes, etc) but you really can't mix types within one bank.

There are multiple banks available in multiple locations, however.

Here's an example of my Direct Select page opened in a Tab. I have 4 Paletes available - Groups, Focus Palette, Beam Palette and Color Palette

As you can see in Groups, I have recorded 5 ML's as Fixture Groups 1 thru 5 as well as All.  The Palettes are self explanatory

I usually open another Direct Select in Lower Left of Console Display, which actually opens on the bottom of the Right LCD.  I then make that my Preset DS.

I then save this as a Snapshot for Monitors and Direct Selects.

Similarly related question from a novice user.  I work at a communal board that recently upgraded to v2.0.  My direct selects page now only has 2 groupings of 20 blocks, whereas I used to be able to view groupings of all 4 palettes I need.

I tried closing/reopening the module but for some reason it simply opens up a new direct selects tab with a grid format.  Is this a flexi thing, or format?  Is it a tab vs module thing?

2 times 20 is only half a screen worth of DS, but you say tab, and you only get them full screen. DS don't listen to Format and not to the Flexi key. (but there is a new onscreen Flexi button while selecting what target types to show, although this wouldn't do what you describe).

if it's really one screen that only has 2x20 i'm at a loss. could you post a screenshot?

Thank you for trying to help out, the problem seems to have been fixed.  I believe it was open as a module above the CIA, so only half the screen.  I wound up just closing everything that was open and reopening it as a tab full screen, then I was able to use the onscreen flexi toggle to expand for more palette options.

Another way to tackle your custom button screen is to simply design a magic sheet with all of the shortcut touch buttons that you need. That way you can have the flexibility to fill the entire screen with whatever you want, and you can design some custom executable macros or even replicate console buttons on the MS.

I know you found a solution to your issue already, but I've been really excited about the Magic Sheets and the limitless possibilities that they give us to design a interface that works for the specific situation that we're in. This has changed my workflow completely for me in my field (Film & Television).
