FX should be step based.

Step 1 ch 140-143 (or all red)

Step 2 ch 150-153 (or all Green)

Step 3 ch 160-163 (or all blue)

after that it is just playing with timing.

That's what I would find in the Expression under Blind and Subs.

Where do I find that here? When I set the sub as effect, I can't find that old familiar, friendly window.

I like the idea of considering it an RGB and I will save that for down the road. Unfortunately, the console is patched and half programmed for shows Friday, Sat.

Found the step chase  in effect, effect. Nothing could be simpler

How would you do a cyc step chase of pastel colours where some of the base colours are at full and others at percentages in each step? I'm using scoops and gel (primary colours) and mixing to get the pastels. I've been able to make it happen through "creative" programming but I'm looking for easier ways of doing things.

If you want to have multiple channels in a step at different levels, you obviously cannot use a single level (eg 75) - you have to use another target, such as an Intensity Palette. You could also use a Cue as the target, but I think IPs are clearer.
