ION Macro Modes: What's the difference?

There seem to be three different modes in the Macro Edittor, for a macro.

What is the difference between Foreground, Background and Default modes?

I am trying to program a Macro that will be triggered by a cue, to regulate our MDG Hazer. (2 min on, 5 min off).

I want to make sure the Macro is in the right mode for this.

  • A background macro will run as user 0 - it won't post to your command line. A Foreground macro will post to the command line of whichever user triggered it. Default means that if you run it manually, it posts to your command line and if it is triggered it runs in the background.

You might want to consider an effect instead of a macro - a 2-step absolute effect would do the trick nicely.
