Difficulty installing EOS Family v196

Hello all

I am trying to install v196 on our EOS. I have installed many updates before with no problem but I have hit a brick wall this time.

I have v196 on a pen drive. When I click on the update button it fails to find the file, which I have slotted into an available USB port on the console.

I thought my pen drive had died but when I went into EOS and went to the "Open" section my pen drive appeared, with v196 on it. So EOS can read the pen drive fine.

Any ideas what's went wrong?

Hello,

These symptoms point to a corrupt installer file. Other users have run into similar issues, and re-downloading the file from the website has resolved the problem, so I would recommend doing that :-)

Thanks for the replies.

I somehow didn't notice that the zip file converted into a folder rather than just the root file. Pretty obvious really, I can't believe I missed it!
