Ion and Capture Sweden

I have tried without success to get the Ion console to 'talk' to my Win7 PC running Capture.

Set my PC adapter to 10.101.100.101 sub 255.255.0.0 - Ion DHCP disabled. Using a Cisco switch.

Left all in auto detect - no go.

Am I better off trying a crossover cable and ditch the switch? Then how is this accomplished in the theater when on the ETC network?

Is there a more in depth/precise explanation somewhere? I am probably overlooking/missing something obvious.

Any suggestions or help is appreciated.

  • I can't help you in terms of running Capture as I have never done it, but the one thing that jumps out at me about your setup is that you are setting your computer IP to the default IP of the Ion Console.

The console and the PC cannot be using the same IP address.

If you haven't changed any settings on the Ion, its IP is most likely 10.101.100.101

Your PC should be something different. I normally use the 10.101.1.xxx subnet for PC's.

So your PC could be 10.101.1.101 or something other than the IP of your console.

See here [http://www.etcconnect.com/]  for more information regarding Capture.

    HTH,

  • Hi,

Capture need the Protkoll "NET2" (Selected in EOS/ION-Setup)
When your PC works with more than 1 NetworkCards(?), you must select the "EOS"-NetworkCard in Capture.

Hope you understand me and that helps...
