ACN or RDM error

So the system sems to be running proper but we have the Red ! on all out channels.  Manual says it indicates an ACN or RDM error.  Can anyone shed light on this and let me know if there is a way to get rid of it?

Version 1.9.6 Eos

  • Hi Ehuber,

this is happening on the RVI? Also on the Eos console?

The red excamation is showing that their is some kind of error on an externally

connected end device being communicated via RDM (DMX) or ACN (Network).

If you do an ABOUT for those channels, you can see the red "!" for the channel

in the upper left hand corner of the about screen. If you click this "!", it will take

you to the exact error message.

Do you have devices which maybe able to communicate errors via RDM or ACN?

These could be Sensor or Matrix MKII Dimming Racks. Or Martin Mac3 Moving Lights,

    or Wybron Scrollers?

  • Thank you for te response.  THe error was only on the Eos.  THe RVI was not on the network at the time.  Restarting the console cleared the errors.  The odd part is i tried to touch the red ! and it wold not take me to an error messge.  Was puzzling but seems to be gone.  I do have AF Senor + rakcs bt they showed no error.

  • I've had similar intermittent issues with our system (I posted a while back).  Our current system is RPU Master Eos Backup- the Eos booted into Client mode one day for some reason and showed an error on every sensor dimmer channel even though there was no error- fixed itself when the console was restarted in Backup mode.

  • The red ! is used to display either an error with the dimmer or to tell you that the dimmer has gone offline for RDM devices or Sensor AF/Matrix dimmers.

If you aren't able to click on the red ! button in About that means that Eos lost its ACN connection to the CEM+, so Eos is reporting the CEM+ is offline and won't get the ACN data.  It didn't take you to the error because there was no actual error with the dimmer or dimmer rack for you to view.  The red ! will go away when the connection has been made again or if you restart the console.

Did you unplug the network cable from the console or switch that would have disconnected you from the system?
