I wish for a way to go to specific Fader pages with one finger- i.e. on the Direct Selects. I would be satisfied with the Macro option, but the board doesn't recognize the combined keystrokes. But how about the option of a Fader page section on the Direct Selects. Either of these would allow labeling.
Can you already label Fader pages?
Make a wish and it could come true.

Putting a fader page selection into a macro I think is fixed in 1.3.1...if not it will be in 1.4...
With that being said, you can record a snapshot that can take you to a specific fader page, but it will also load your faders...which may be an unwanted side-effect. We currently don't have the granularity in recording snapshots to just do the page...but I could see that being helpful. You can also use the rate wheel, when the fader page key is held down to scroll you through each page.
You currently cannot label a fader page...it's a good idea, though. We will add that to the list along with labeling direct select pages (since that is all related in the code).

Doc,
Yes, the snapshots were my first my first inclination, but there was that unwanted side-effect. I do use the rate wheel, but I can get a little clumsy sometimes, skipping my target or rolling the wrong way. Is there a way to delete/disable unused fader pages so that if you use only 6 pages, you wouldn't need to roll through pages 7 to 30 in order to do a wrap around?
Thanks,

I know that this, for some people, was a really cool Virtuoso idea. I think that the incorporation of this into the ION would speed up programming since the desk does not have the uber direct selects like the EOS. For those of you not failure with this feature I will try to recall it, and I am sure the people who know will correct me. So in live you could press [group] [color] [16] [enter] and the desk would select all active channels in color 16. This feature also worked with preset, cue, intensity, and I am not sure what else. Now I think that EOS users have the ability to do this with [select manual], but the ION can only use this by typing it into the command line.
Hi there,
both features are already in :-)
[Group] [Color Palette] 16 [enter]
selects & sets all channels involved in CP16 to CP16 (same for Int/Focus/Beam/Presets/Cues/Subs and step-based effects) ;-)
If you want to select the channels only (without putting them into the Pal), you could use
[Query] {can be} [Color Palette] 16.
And to make "all currently in red to blue":
[Query] [Color Palette] blue [Color Palette] red
You might need to use a keyboard shortcut to access [Query] on Ion.
Cheers,
Markus
I'd like to throw something in, Because I'm dumb and have been jumping between an MA and the Eos which is another topic entirely, can I add in an argument for the {copy to} button in that hitting it and then selecting say macro 4 and then hitting macro 40 so that it will copy macro 4 to macro 40... Syntax = {copy to} {macro 4 ds} {macro 40 ds}. Makes moving anything in the direct selects easier... Anne you can beat me later for using an MA...
This may be a duplicate - apologies, I'm still making my way through this thread... - but is selecting addresses/channels on the patch screen with the mouse/touchscreen on the list yet? It seems intuitive, going from a tombstone screen, where channels are selectable, to another screen, where there's a similar list of channels...
I'd also LOVE to see labels popping up in the tombstones for Palettes, instead of FP 1, or CP3, or... - It would also be nice to see these when Data is held down though.

If I understand you correctly this feature is, and has been available for quite some time.
If you are currently seeing Palette numbers you can go into Desk Settings>Displays and Enable 'Show Reference Labels' which will allow you to view palette/preset labels.
You can also hold down the Label key to temporarily toggle the view.

...And thanks, Graham!
So after a nice long session of programming today, I was thinking about what would make my programming easier.
Two ideas:
I love the idea of having an assignable key. I was thinking I'd make mine macro. But right now, I have a designer using macros a lot. I have been using the key on the right of the CIA. But it's really hard to see and hit keys over there. (I have my little lights bent almost all the way down to the keypad to reduce spill). It would be great if the macro, snapshot, display, etc. keys to the right of the CIA lit up or had a designated light to see them better. Then I wouldn't need a key to make using macros easy : )
2nd Idea. I think some sort of flexi feature would be great for direct selects. Right now the left touch monitor on my console is macros, effects, presets, and groups. Each displaying 20 numerical options. But I have a designer creating non numerical presets. He is doing All Act presets in 1-99, Act 1 Presets 100-199, Act 2 200-299 Act 3 300-399. But we probably only have 20-40 presets. If it could all display on 2 pages, that would be great. Not even for selection so much. But love watching my presets light up when I select a channel : ) And it helps after a long quick session of programming to figure out what went where.
Just thoughts. Love my Eos.
Thanks!

I wholeheartedly agree. Most of the designers I have worked with have put their groups, presets, and colors as the starting channel (or gel color number) which makes the direct selects impractical during a heavy programming session.
Another feature request - graphical channel layouts (like the Congo line, I believe). I know I spend a whole lot of time paging through my paperwork just trying to figure what fixture is patched to a channel, and where that fixture is located...
Even some sort of channel organization on a blank screen, literally dragging channels around, the top of the screen is all the way US, and the bottom is DS.

As requested, one of the attributed of the new GIO console is that it has backlit keys.
Once again, ETC delivers!
