Best wireless router for now and future

I don't think it matters too much as long as you don't view the wireless router as mission critical. I just picked up a $60 Cisco wireless router from Best Buy after our LinkSys died. If/when it fails I will get another one. They should be about $30 by then for something comparable.

I think I am going to be picking up a "middle of the road" N router...unless I hear any objections!

We have a netgear WAP 102, it will allow a the apple app to run but not the client software, it gets stuck trying to send the show file data to the wireless client.th

So steer clear of that one.   I have used a apple airport express with success for both Ipod/pad apps and client applications.

I've never been able to get the client software to run over wifi. No matter which router i've used. Is it actually possible?

All we wanted was for the LD to be able to see level changes and cues running during previews but weren't able to do it. In the end we had to leave a Mac logged in as client connected by a cable and get the designer to VNC into the Mac.

It's been pretty solid for me since 1.9 was released. Earlier versions would fail trying to synchronize large show files but that seems to be solved now. Sometimes I get lag and connection loss but that may be due to interference and/or the bursty nature of WiFi.

Edit: I have not tried with a Mac. All our laptops are Windows XP.

We have an Extreme and im sure the settings are the same and it works fine, make sure your console is acting as a dhcp server, I can export the configuration file if you want me to send that over for you to see the settings?
