Am I the only one who feels slighted?

When I went with the ion desk I was told that I might want to wait for the advent of some new RFU because the one offered sucks and its cost is a large percentage of the price of the Ion itself. Two years later and the only progress made is an app for Iphone users only with no plans to expand to the great unwashed anytime soon. I spoke with a few of my contemporaries who had bought the ETC RFU recommended and are in the throes of regret (poor wretches). So now I have no remote control of my dimmers and I have no interns because of budget cuts. I refuse to drink the Apple kool-aid for personal reasons and I get nothing but a tap number from ETC. I'm starting to feel like a Strand customer.

  • The Android RFR is currently in Beta Testing. Other than the iphone app and soon to be android app I have never heard of another RFU in the works.

I also have the Net3 RFR and although expensive it is decent minus the battery life and overall life of the rechargeables. But you can replace the rechargeables as they are just regular energizer rechargeables or use standard AA batteries. It is a bit of a pain to change regular AA's just because of there being 4 small screws, but it isn't hard and doesn't take long.

  • Not sure what the moaning is about the ETC RRFU.  I've had mine for 20 mos. and have no issues with it.  I replaced the batteries once with cheapie nicads, which didn't work well then switched to Duracells and have good usage from these.  My RRFU works very well, is every bit as reliable as the hard wired RFU I had on my Express and thus was worth the money, IMO.
