Importing Tracking Show

ETC Ion

I need to import a show for a visiting company that has been recorded in tracking but I want to run the console in Cue Only mode.

I'm doing this offline at present, and I wondered if anyone knew whether it's as simple as changing the desk setting from Tracking to Cue Only, or whether making that change will affect the imported data? The imported show has a lot of chases and part cues.

Any advice gratefully received.

Hi Grahame,

Running in Cue Only Mode won't be a problem for your imported show.

Cue Only Mode doesn't affect how cues are ran, rather how cues are recorded.

Could I ask you another question?

If I want to import the visiting company's show into Cue List 6, how would I go about that? I've tried offline importing their show as ASCII into my existing desk set up, but it's simply wiping/overwriting all of my data.

I am not sure if this the recommended procedure but you can:

import as a new show file

save the show file

then use the advanced features of Merge to import the Cues to a different list target.

Hi Grahame,

You should first import the ASCII file and save it as an Ion showfile.

Next, Open your default showfile.

Now go to File>Merge. Choose the imported Ion file, go to the Advanced options and choose List 1 as the Source list and List 6 as the target list.

Does that make sense?
