Custom scrollers

I am trying to create my own ChromaQ (old original version) scroller in ION offline editor and notice when selecting "scroller" it automatically adds hue and sat.  Even though it is simply  a single channel device with 16 gels on a scroll does it still use hue and sat?  I tried to delete them but to no avail.

Also do I create 16 "ranges" with min/max values and title each one the particular color it would run?  If so what's the difference between the Min/Max and User Min/Max?

  • The Hue and Saturation parameters are required by the color picker control. They do not use any DMX address and have no impact on the number of DMX addresses the scroller uses.

    YOu may be better served to use "Generic Scroller" or ChromaQ Plus_M1. If you want to understand exactly how the ranges are programmed then copy either of these to a new fixture and edit it. I think the Scroller parameter overrides any default range programming for frames.

    Thanks for the info.  I used the M1 example and it was as I thought.  I entered labels for each of the 16 frames.  My only problem is I don't have a dmx range sheet for that scroll so I did some math and will fine adjust when fixtures are running.  Can't wait to see how the labels come up in relation to picking colors.  I labeled each one with the Gam color name as well as Gam number.
