Presets & Palettes

Hi

When I'm using a preset on a moving light in Cue 1 thru 3 on ch 1. Say in cue 1 ch 1I have a hard soft edge.  Cue 2 I want to have a hard edge.  I harden the edge in cue 2 then [update] [enter] Go back to cue 1 and the hard edge is now in cue 1.

Have I just updated the preset not the cue?  If so how do I get round this and tell the cue to just update the channel information not the preset info?

I tried turning it into a beam palette but his did the same thing.  Where's my mistake?

Cheers

  • The best option is to record another new Preset with the hard edge, then update Cue 2.

You could also use [Update] and select the {Make Absolute} option in the CIA - this will put absolute (hard) data into your Cue 2.

By default, Update will update references and cues - but this can be changed in the Setup options.
