Remove Commands

Hello again.

I'm trying to remove some commands from a Cue and having some nomenclature/syntax difficulties.  My problems are with Block cues/channels and channels with effect commands.

In Blind, as it stands right now it seems like I have to type CH ## @ ENTER for intensity commands, CH ## BLOCK ENTER for redundant (blocked) commands, and CH ## EFFECT ENTER for effect commands.

Can we just simplify this so that @ ENTER removes commands of all types?  Is there a reason why not?

I'm just trying to streamline both the typing process and the communication from LD to LBO, and am not sure why this differentiation is valuable to me.  Any thoughts anyone?

  • Hmmm.... first, [at] [Enter]  should be removing blocks in blind.  If it isn't, we will get that fixed.   We specifically kept removing effects separate, allowing you to remove an effect, but not a move instruction, or remove the move instruction, but maintain the effect.

    Make sense?

  • Anne,

Yes that makes perfect sense for effects that aren't step-based, now that you mention it, but brings up another question.  Is there a way to see both the levels of the attribute and the effect they are in?  So if I put a fixture in a Focus Point (library/pallete...I'm still not getting the labels right, but I'll get there!), and then apply a circle effect to it, I can see in the display that Focus is at FP5 with EF 901?

This is part of my larger problem that I can't seem to get the display to tell me ANY information about attributes other than intensity.  My board op says he can tell from the console, but all I see on the RVI is FCB or + changing colors.  I've tried holding down the data command on my local keyboard, (qwerty plugged into the RVI) but that doesn't seem to do it.  I know it must be here somewhere...

Also, can we add a "Post as New Thread" button next to the post button?  This whole stream-of thought typing is really making this reply a seperate topic....

And thanks for enabling attachments! that will be great!

  • Hi David-

F4 for Format will change your view from the tombstone* view to Table view to see all of the attributes. Make sure that Scroll Lock is on on the the Qwerty keyboard. If you ever forget the key shortcuts, F1 (Help, like in Windows) and ; will bring up a list.

    * I have decided that this is too morbid, and will find another term to describe it.

  • Found it, thanks.  The trick was F4 to table, then reveal the CIA with F5, then hold F10 and use the mouse to click the items I want to look at.  Can't believe I didn't think of that before  ;)

Thanks for the F1 ; command, that will be a big help.

See my later post about RVI screen views, I'm probably going to keep adding as I get time and figure out how it works.
