Snapshoting External Monitors

I am trying to take some snapshots of different monitor/touchscreen views. I get the screens just the way I like and take the snapshot with Monitors and Direct Selects highlighted. When I go to playback the snapshot both my external screens pile up on Screen 1, leaving 2 Blank (I am not using a third external). I then have to Tab Arrow the thing back to where I want it.

Am I missing something?

My biggest complaint so far is the ammount of time wasted Tabing and Formating around to get the different views I want to access regularly. Is there any other way to speed this up since Snapshot doesn't seem to work just yet?

I will say I'm really impressed with the fader Snapshot option for one offs but would find it much more usefull if I could execute it with fades and not just by bumping into Snaps.

Thanks

  • Please feel free to call tech support and ask for Matt.  I would love to talk more about this.  We are having trouble reproducing this here.

  • Hey there.... would also like to talk to you about tabbing/formatting issues.  There are a variety of ways to open displays..... you can tab to them, you can press [Tab] / [Number] to bring a view to the top.  You can also double hit any record target to bring up a list view.  So, the only display that you don't have quick front panel access to is Patch (which on almost any desk is going to be Tab 3)....   Would like to talk to you about what's slowing you down.

Can you email me your contact information and I'll give you a ring?  (anne.valentino@etcconnect.com)

    Thanks much!

  • Hey,

I am experiencing the same thing as PigOops.  I'm using three monitors and while I mostly understand the rules for navigating them, I'm still getting used to it, so it is still slow.  But in addition to the Snapshot not recording my monitors correctly, my configuration reverts to some default on every startup.

My other attempt at Snapshots was of the Faders and when I recalled it, it loaded cue zero into my main Faders.  Is that because I somehow had cue zero loaded when I recorded the Snapshot?  What am I missing?

    Thanks, B

  • If I'm not mistaken Snapshot>Faders takes the state of all faders as well as the views. So if you were in cue zero when you made the snapshot, it'll put you back there when you recall it.
