NET 3 RFU overide

Is there a way from the desk to take control of any channels captured by the RFU?

Yesterday we spent a very frustrating 4 hours with a channel completely unresponsive.  We checked the CEM to find out what device was giving the control signal for the lamp to be on, and the source was always the EOS.  From the faceplate, all screens displayed the channel at 0, and the only way to change the level was to park the dimmer.

Finally I powered on the RFU and typed CH## OUT then CH## @ ENTER CLEAR

This released control of the aforementioned channel back to the console, until then we had no idea what was controlling that fixture.

I should mention that multi user is enabled, with the faceplate, back up processor, and RVI in user 1.  If the RFU is another user, the information should still be displayed on the LIVE screen....  and is there a way to make the RFU a Phantom user, like the old obsession multi user functions?

Maybe when you try to grab control of a channel used by another user there should be a prompt asking you to take control....and then actually relinquish control.

  • Partitioned control? What kind of new exciting thing is that?

In my head Partitioned control would mean that if you have two desks on the network you can give control of the movers to one desk and control of everything else to the other, and have them edit the same show file, but not be able to control each other's channels.  Just an example, but is this the idea?
