ION WING FLASHED AND BACKUP BOARD PROBLEM

Im working in live and all of sudden on the main console the fader wing flashed, like went out and came back on.  So I am mirroring everything on my backup board.  I saved everything on a thumb drive and resaved it to the back up board. On the backup board for some reason there are a handful of channels that are stuck at 1%. I dont have anythin parked and no subs are up. There is no reason why these channels are active, any thoughts? maybe just a bug? I think another board op had the same problem.

  • It happened to me because the fader wing was bolted to the console and the console wasn't on a level surface. A little wiggling opened up the USB connection and the fader wing lost power momentarily. Fixing the desk fixed my problem. YMMV.

  • Hi,

I can't speak to the wing crashing, although I did once have a similar experience to sk8rs_dad, so thats a great place to start. As far as channels being up at 1%. There are a couple things to check. If the sub wing connection is wonky, its possible that a sub is up even though the handle itself is down.

If the 1% is yellow (probably a very light yellow), this indicates that they are being controlled by a sub. The other way to check is to press the About key. Type in a channel and it will tell you where that channel is getting its information from. Manual, Sub, Cue etc...

If the channel is on a Sub, but your handles are down, you can type [Sub] <1> [thru] [Home] [Enter]

    HTH,

  • seems that the channels were being controlled from a sub, which is weird cuz  I even checked thh virtual sub. Thanks for your help Ben
