Connecting Ion and Wysiwyg

Hello,

I have a new Ion and I learning about it.

I'm trying to connect Ion with 1.9 soft and Wysiwyg R22 running on a Windows 7.

I follow all the steps described in the wiki:

1.Address the Ion at IP: 10.101.100.101 and Node Acces at 10.101.90.103

2. The computer is at IP:10.101.100.104

3. I enable the offline outputs on Ion and enable EDMX reception on the Wysiwyg.

But nothing works. I try stop the firewall on windows and no succes.

Can somebody help me about that? Any solution?

Thank you!

  • Corey,

IP information is as you say and no firewall but no response from the Wysiwyg.

I ping the Ion and I have good response.

May be something about the patching? I patch on the Ion a dimmer with output on EDMX and I also patch on wysiwyg as EDMX universe.

In wyg Live always appears as No connected devices, normally when I connect other consoles I need to connect them with the device manager. But I understand that there's nothing to do about it working with EDMX.

  • EDMX is 'native' to Wyg, and is enabled using the "Enable EDMX Reception" option - as you thought, it's not a device and doesn't need to be connected.

EDMX appears in Wyg as a seperate patch column, so you'll need to patch using that specific column rather than the 'by universe' columns.

In the Ion, you only need to enable EDMX (ETCNet2) protocols and ensure that your channels are patched to the EDMX interface.
    - Ticking the "Default" column in Settings will force this, otherwise you can use the "Interface" softbutton to choose EDMX when patching.

If you've checked all of that and it still isn't working, then I would suggest that you contact your local Cast dealer for more assistance.
