Ion 1.9.6 color picker bug?

Just a quick thought, have you got cmy inverted?

I had issues with cxi's and the color picker after updating software. If I recall, what I did to fix it was update the fixtures profile. Just note that updating the fixture can potentially affect your existing show data.

To update fixtures go to patch, and in patch click your fixture type. Near the bottom center of the screen there should be an "Edit" button. Click that, and then in the same area there will be an "Update Lib" button. If the text is white then there is an update for your fixture. If you want to update click it and then confirm that you do indeed want to update the fixture.

What kind of effect could it have on my existing show data?

I'm not exactly sure, but that is the warning you get before updating. I would think that there is a chance the fixture may not operate exactly as programmed since the profile update may have changed/ updated some functions of the fixture, therefore reprogramming may have to be done.

What type of fixture is it? If it is the CXI, then you might need to update the fixture to use the color picker. You can try updating the fixture in patch, to see if it fixes the problem. If so, that is the best solution, but then you "might" have to reprogram your color palettes in your show.

It is the fixture library.  Once updated the color pickers works again, but it ruins all of the previously made color palettes, so we are just going to continue on without the color picker.  Just learned the hard way what I was thinking before, that it is not a good idea to do an OS update in the middle of the process.

So here is a follow up.  We have discovered that (we didn't update the fixture library so the color picker doesn't work), while our previously made CP work fine, now when we record a new CP it doesn't recall correctly.  I haven't sat behind the desk to troubleshoot this one, yet, it's just what the LD/ALD tell me.  My guess is that it has to do with the color space.  I think the new (nonfunctioning) CPs are being recorded with HSB values and, without the updated fixture library, the way the OS interprets those values is different.  So, my theory is that if I change them to the scroller values it might work.  Scroll 1 at 50% is scroll 1 at 50% no matter what the library says.  I hope.

I am going in tomorrow to try to work this out, but any advice would be appreciated.
