Pixelmap patching with dimmer doubling?

Should it be possible to build a pixel map with a dimmer-doubled fixture using A/B notation? I think I can do it using the relative offset (base+20,000 for ACN) but that seems kludgy and protocol-specific.

  • My first question when I read this is.......Why?

Why are you using dimmer doubling and pixel mapping together?  Are you pixel mapping  a lot of Dimmer doubled source 4's?

Given that pixel mapping is usually done on LED fixtures, dimmer doubling doesn't seem to have any advantage when used with LED's.

  • Well, I don't have a big inventory of LEDs nor an unlimited budget to acquire them.

I want to use pixel mapping with conventionals with my PARs for chase effects. It's supposed to be possible.

The PARS are  lamped 77V, already doubled, and already hanging. I do not want to have to replace all the plugs and lamps. Sure, I don't have to use pixel mapping but what's the point of offering the ability to map dimmers but not be able to easily address them in the patch?
