Our X-Keys Layout

Hi everyone,

First post from me. My name is Tim Wilson and I am the Head Electrician at the Geary Theater in San Francisco. We are currently using our Eos for it's first show, The Rainmaker. I thought some might find a picture of the x-keys keyboard I put together interesting. We have been using it plugged into a client machine near the stage for load-in and then moved it to the design table for tech, where the LD and Assistant can manipulate their views. It has two layers of 58 keys each. It works really well.

The keyboard is running in what is called resident memory mode which means it can be plugged into any machine without the x-keys software being loaded onto it. It can even be plugged into the front of the Eos console and it works fine. There is a linear-shaped, 16 key keyboard that I am thinking of getting for just this purpose. Then I can have 16 more hardkeys above the current Eos hardkeys assigned to things like "dimmer" and "patch" or whatever.

Tim
