Limit amount of usable addresses

In the shell, you can set output ranges that are allowed. But yes - not sure why you'd want to limit the addresses except to ensure that 2 connected spaces don't interfere.

Challenge is correct!  It will be interesting to see who comes up with what to solve the problem.  As for logical reasons, I share this...  Once in order to make a hardpatch panel work correctly it was necessary to use tu-fors patching house dimmers (at the male, if you didn't guess) to a house circuit on the one side and a road circuit on the other.  The panel was wired inappropriately.  At first the panel which appeared normal seemed to just be malfunctioning, but when I metered it I discovered that its neutrals were only wired on the "circuit" side of their panel, and since I had to add additional road circuits, the road circuits did not work when plugged into the panel.  I'll admit the thought crossed my mind - "there is no reason why I should have to do this" - yet I did make the show happen.  Sometimes knowing how to do something you should never need to do is quite useful.
