I realize there are a million reasons the console is set up for this but I have a queston. When double taping various keys, say Effect Effect as one example the Effects list comes up in Blind. Of course after seeing which effect the operator wants to use (hard to memorize all of them) they can't just type 903 Enter because it's in Blind. Of course it also deselects any channels previously selected when exiting that list. This is true with a lot of lists of course.
Soooo would it be possilbe to make the console respond like this:
Again just using Effects as an example. Effects Effects would bring up the list as a tab that would not deselect channels or "effect" typing in the effect number and enter. If the operator wants to go to Blind instead they would hit Effect Blind and the current way would pop up.
So instead it would be Group 6 Enter. OOOOPS I dont remember what effect I want to run so I will check the list. Tab+3 (if Effects happens to already be running in tab 3 or Effect Effect) and the list pops up. Okay I see I want to use 903 so hit Effect 903 Enter and now that group is running effect 903. This works when using the Tab and # for say ML Controls when its already running. When a color effect is running and the channels are selected, bringing up the ML Controls or the Color Picker shows it running and does not deselect the channels. That way the effect can be dragged around the wheel for changes to be seen.
Also I could not find a way to make changes to the effect; size, rate, etc. unless I open the running Effects window and clicked on the effect. That's another one that deselects channels, shuts down the ML Controls then brings up those softkeys for changes. When programming it's nice to be able to see the color picker and effect running as the changes are made to know what to change next. Eh is it Horiz or Vert or Size, etc? Watching it running helps.
Ehhhhh am I off base here? :-)
