X-Keys for Ion

I know this has come up before but I can't seem to find any recent posts so here it goes again . .

I want to get a PI's X-Key device for our RVI so the designer at the tech table has a keyboard that is more like the Ion in the booth . . .I understand that a year or so ago PI redesigned the X-Key and that the old software wasn't playing nice with the Ion (or Eos) ..  so a few questions . .

1) did the compatibility issue ever get resolved? is there new software to download that will work with the current version of X-Key?

2) can you have more than one X-Key device on a computer (or RVI) at a time? (I see having one device for the SM with simple "GO", BACK". "GO TO CUE" and so on being useful as well as the Designer/ME X-Key Pro for programing and such . . . )

3) Outside or direct ordering from PI does any theatre vendor sell these?

Thanks. . .

  • So I got X-Keys up and running .. . I can't seem to get it to edit keys properly .. I will try again after the next two shows are over . ..

But I was excited to discover that my OLD Ion keys fit the X-Keys perfectly . . I still had to make a few key cap inserts for the non keyed items (like Browser, and Color Picker) but all in all it looks pretty sharp with the Ion keys . .
