new file = reset system

I had a problem with an Ion last saturday. I wanted to save my show and by accident I pressed new file. Probably because 'new file' and 'save file' are right above eachother. So My complete show was deleted and I could not use the 'Undo'-button, because the whole system was reseted.

Please make 'undo' possible when you choose 'new file'. It is sucha small error with such big consequence.

  • Is this the very first save ?.

The Eos/Ion file structure usually writes a new file with each save.  Thus you are always seeing [EDIT:multiple show files in] a list with date/time stamps and have something to go back too.  You can see this in the shell under Maintenance - File Manager

    Two thoughts:

    1) Save often.  Save every 1/2 hr., or a break, which ever comes first.

    2) At the same time you save to the hard drive, save to a thumb drive.  Keep the USB stick in the slot during cue writing sessions.  Then remove it upon power down and store it somewhere safe.  This way if the HD craps, the console gets stolen whatever, you have a copy of the show file.

    3) You can press together, the Update and Select keys on the console keypad to do a quick save, avoiding having to go to the Display - Central Information Area and drilling down to File and Save.
