3 patch questions

Hi all,

3 questions about patching on Ion.

- Is it possible to execute the 'channel flash' function in patch without a mouse?

- Is it possible to address different patch parts of a channel in live mode? I believe Strand had an implementation with "11.1 at full" would result in only the first patched part of channel 11 being output. Something similar on Eos/Ion?

- Is there a way to test correct patching while the channel is being patched? Something like highlight or channel flash showing me what I'm patching without having to switch it on all the time?

Thanks! Mike

Not that I'm aware of - I do find it handy investing in at least one touchscreen monitor for the ion, especially if dealing with movers, as there's a lot of stuff there in the CIA that benefits from a touchscreen.

No. My strand knowledge is a bit sketchy, but I thought syntax like "11.1" was for referencing a particular parameter on a fixture - ie 11.1 was intensity of fixture 11, while 11.2 was pan, 11.3 was tilt, etc. I didn't think it was used for multi-patched fixtures, but don't hold me to that as I've done little Strand programming.

You can use the "flash" button in the patch screen to test out a circuit as you're patching it. Or, if you want to check a dimmer before jumping into patch, there's the "address" softkey (from an empty command line) to temporarily park dimmers for testing purposes.
