ML Controls in RVI . . must be a full moon . . .

Tonight i was using my RVI to do some pre-cueing and discovered that when I selected a moving light and tried to change a gobo or color wheel mode (for example to make it scroll through the diachroics) it cleared the command line and took me to an apparently random channel number . . .

using the same features on the Ion did not produce the same results . . it worked exactly the way it is supposed to . .

when i rebooted the RVI it seemed to cure the issue .. .

the only new thing is the addition of X-Keys to my RVI . .. 

so .. any ideas what happened .. can I expect it to happen again? anyone else have this happen?

    Now I'm on the hunt for what I did with the RVI to trigger this as it's happened at least twice now since first reporting it . . .I'll also be sending an e-mail directly to ETC support . .

    Is it possible there's a wrong keystroke(s) programmed into your x-keys?

    Is there another person on another console with the same user number?

    1) it's possible .. but the file is the one I pulled from ETC so if it's wrong on mine it's wrong on others . .

     

    2) it's a closed system . . . an Ion (first ours and then a rental) and our RVI . . the next nearest Ion is 15 miles away . . .it's attached to a wireless router but only my iPad or iPhone are used wirelessly . .  and it's secure. . .

     

    3) it only happens on the "ML Control" tab on the RVI .. and it is obviously when I click one of the virtual mode modifier buttons ("spin+", "rot" ...etc) but other virtual buttons (like color selection of gobo selection continue to work)

     

    4) I can't place when it happens yet .. everything is working fine .. and then it's not . . .  I have been too busy writing cues and running them to pay enough attention to when it happens . . I only notice it when it I need that feature and it's not there. . .
