FX Problem

The following problem:

I have an effect which is stored in the show in a cue.

The beat is at every performance in terms of speed different.

An exact Setting of speed over the rate in the live mode takes too long and is too fiddly.

Therefore, my wish would be for the next software update / release, or even before, that a FX rate-learn function is fitted to enter the speed by pressing a button/tap the FX-Speed (e.g. like tap the rate-button at the Smart Fade).

Anyone else has an idea how I can solve this problem first?

thx,

Linus

  • Hi Linus,

With the release of 1.9.8, it is possible to have an effect submaster control the rate of an effect, rather than the size.  This is set in the "Fade Entry" parameter for the particular effect by selecting "Fade by Rate."

Currently, the submaster will only control the rate from 0 - 100%, so I'd recommend making the original effect as fast as you would want it to go, and adjust the submaster between 0-100% to match what you need.  It isn't exactly a "match tempo" sort of setting, but it definitely allows for dynamic adjustment.
