Asserting...

I am working on an Eos and I have a sub recorded that has LEDs in it. My LD want to bring down the intensity to half but keep the colors the same with out going into blind and changing it, so he tells me to assert it, at this point in LIVE i hit the top bump button and nothing happens, i then hit both top and bottom and it goes to the color i want but when i release it goes back to the wrong color, and the same thing happend when I hit the bottom button.  I tried hiting the hard assert button over the number pad but it gives me a syntex error and pulls up the word"cue" so i assume that can only assert cues. I also tried the hard asset button on the left side of the board and it did nothing.

  • Hi there.  I'll do a quick review of assert to check for any issues.  But if I understand what you are trying to do, you don't need to do this.  If all you are trying to do is fade the intensity of your LEDs, but keep the color, you can store your end color and intensity to a submaster, set the sub as an I-Master.  This is an option under the fader softkey.   Using the bump button, you can mark your color parameters, fade the intensity up as needed.  When you bring the fader down, the color will hold, but the intensity will fade...

    Does that address your issue?

    Thanks much!
