Effect stopping and values not returning to background values

Hi all,

Programmed a color effect on Ion today, and loaded it onto an effect submaster. My channels have color information from a cuelist (H/S color information, stored in a color palette). When I start and stop the effect on the submaster, the color values won't return to the values from the cuelist. The last values from the effect will be outputted. Shouldn't they return (auto-assert) to the values from the cuelist?

Mike, they should be returning to the cue values, since the effect behavior is an override of the cue data. Are you seeing this issue on screen, on the output or both?

Can you email me your showfile, the cue and sub in question, along with the current software version? anne.valentino@etcconnect.com.

Hi Anne,

I am seeing this issue on screen, I didn't have any output connected. I will try to check it again when I have some output rig (or visualizer) connected. Still waiting for my own Ion for testing purposes... ;-)

It was a (pretty standard) relative color effect on Hue and Saturation. I have shared this one directly with Graham from ETC London, who happened to be in the same room at the time. He would try to get some more info about this one, hope it helps clearing this out.

Thanks much. Will ping Graham. In looking at this yesterday with the default Hue/Sat relative effect, control was restored to the cue list when the bump button was pressed to stop the effect as you'd expect.

With me, it looked like doing the same thing resulted in 'leaving' the H/S values as they where at the moment the bump button was pressed. But because there was no output connected, I'm not sure whether this was a live display output problem only, or a real onstage look problem... Too bad I don't have an Ion to test this further, but I'm sure Graham has the info you need.
