only one monitor working

The other night i had to move our ION console and when i went to set it back up, only one monitor was working. i traded cables with the monitors and then the other monitor started to work while the other one stopped working. so thinking that it was the cable, i hooked up a VGA cable because that was all that was lying around and when i restarted the board, the ETC logo came up on both monitors, but that was it, i didnt get my channel controls up or my cue list.

Once the board comes up with one monitor all the displays are shoved to that monitor.

Use your normal display formating to get things back. Tab -> will move a tab to the right display. I'm also a big fan of snapshots. I think everyone should record snapshot 1 as your default display set up without extra tabs.

I've also seen cases where the second video gets disabled if the console comes on without that monitor functioning. If your second display is truely off then you'll have to go into the shell and to "external monitor configuration" to re-activate it.
