Eos offline mode + DMX USB device

I am running my computer with the eos offline mode software. I have it connected to an Enttec dmx usb pro device for sending dmx signals. This link (http://www.etcconnect.com/community/wikis/products/knowledgebase-connecting-eos-ion-element-to-a-visualiser.aspx) indicates that the Eos software should work with this.  Now the software crashes instantly when I open it when the usb device is plugged in, and when I plug it in while the software is running it crashes after a few seconds.

This occurs with both the 1.9.8 and 1.9.0 software.

Is there any way to get this to work?

  • Josh,

The reference to the enttec device in that wiki article is as a receiver for DMX, not a transmitter.  If you have (for example) an ETCNet2 DMX Node connected to the network along with your offline computer, when you enable Offline output you can get a slowly updated DMX output from the Node.  The node's output could then potentially be run into a DMX to USB converter for use with a visualizer (the topic of the article).  We don't currently support any USB to DMX dongles for console output.
