Hi,
If you want to release and unmap the fader, you can now do [Shift] + [Load], but the release softkey should still be working I believe!

where is the shift key?
The shift key is a new key cap that replaces the follow/hang key. When you go to download the newest software it explains how to get the new keycap(s) if you don't already have it.
I see.
on my ion, the follow/hang key is a soft key. It appears when pressing the fader control button.
There is no physical follow/hang key.
Thanks for the info on the new keyset.
So you should have a shift key then. When the actual Follow/Hang key was changed to be Shift, the softkeys were added. You can also do [Shif] [Delay] to post Follow to the command line or [Shif] [Delay] [Delay] to post Hang to the command line. Here is a pic of where the shift key is:
I see it now. Thanks for the pic. I was looking at the to of the board near "fader control"
Sure enough follow/hang next to delay.
So, follow/hang is now Shift.
And Shift + load will clear the contents of an inactive fader correct?

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by 'inactive' fader unless you mean an empty playback. [Shift] + [Load] will release (see Release + Load) and unmap a fader, so whatever is assigned to it, sub, playback etc is removed. It will also unmap an empty playback.
[Release] + [Load] returns control to the background levels and if a playback removes the current cue and resets the playback to the first cue.
Cheers
