Hi everyone. Some of you may have noticed that 1.9.9 is now posted to the downloads section of the products pages.
1.9.9 fixes a number of software issues and includes support for CEM3 dimmer feedback. It also modifies the tools for scroller calibration (the cal routine now generates an editable table in the patch display - which can be copied) and provides optional encoder controls which disables acceleration and allows you to define the degree/amount of change per encoder rotation. When accel is disabled, the encoders always operate in coarse mode. To access Fine, you can hold down shift and move the encoder (it is no longer a toggle state on the Eos encoders).
Right now, on Eos and Ion, that encoder setting is disabled by default, resulting in encoder controls that you've always had. You can enable though, on a desk by desk basis. This information is not stored with the showfile. Our intent is this:
In the next feature release, we will make "accel disabled" the default, but allow access to enabling the acceleration. In the feature release after that, we will remove the acceleration code entirely. But we wanted to give you all a chance to use it, provide comments, etc, before we did that.
We will be releasing 1.9.10 on Thursday. This is to support a hardware change in Eos (new vendor for the encoders) and fix an obscure memory issue. Just giving you a heads up that you might want to hold off on downloading 1.9.9, as it will be replaced with 1.9.10 very shortly.
:-)
Thanks much!
