what does it mean when there is a little red exclamation point in a channel tile?
Hi Ms. Simpson,
the red ! means there is dimmer error information. If you select the channel and then press ABOUT, you can click the red ! in the upper left side of the About screen and it will present you with more dimmer information. I assume you have Sensor or FDX Dimmers?
Yes i do have Sensor dimmers , The error reads " Circut DC Output" any idea what that means/?
the rack is says press enter(check mark) to clear and the error below reads the same as the console (DIM 220 DC Ouput) , should i hit enter or pop the switch off and back on manually?
The "DC Output Error" indicates that the dimmer thinks that it is outputting a DC voltage. This is pretty unusual, and usually only seen with odd loads like fluorescent fixtures. What type of load do you have attached to the dimmer?
Steps I would try, in order,
1. From the front screen, press the check mark to clear the error. Does it clear or does it stay there?
2. Reset the dimmer rack (the reset button looks like the batman symbol, on the left by the display - be aware lights will go out when you do this). Does the error go away?
3. Turn the power off and swap the dimmer module for another of the same type elsewhere in the rack. Does the error follow the module? If so it could be a bad dimmer module.
If you get that far and still have issues, feel free to give your nearest ETC office a call for support. Once we've fixed the error at the dimmer, the message in the channel title will obviously clear also.

I have a 2k fresnel hooked up to that dimmer, right now I can't check this (we are about to start rehearsal, go live for Nightly News and it's hanging in the air of course). At the end of the night I will get as far as I can and continue tomorrow and report back. I hope I wont have to call the office for more support. Thanks so much for your help Tom!
No problem! If it's a standard 2k load then chances are that there's something up with the dimmer module. The good news is that the feedback system in the dimmers is separate from the dimming part, so this won't affect your ability to control the load.
Let us know how you get on.
