I wonder if any one can help.
We have 2 IONs on a tour one acting as the primary and the second as a backup.
The primary console has 2 monitors and the Backup has 1.
I have set the back up console NOT to auto back up take over.
My thoughts were not to have auto backup take control as we are leaving the setup in venues for house staff to operate, some have no EOS training/experience.
I thought that if the master fails the backup would pop up with a "Lost connection with master - Take control button" Which I think will definatly alert a user that something is wrong,
rather than them having to notice the network status above the CIA. Madness??
So in a demo to some house staff what might happen should (not that it should) the Master fail.
I pulled the cat5 out the back of the primary and looked at the backup.....Alas nothing, The CIA was locked closed and the console failed to display the message, I tried to press GO or any key but the console did not respond, It was like the message was being displayed but in the locked CIA. I popped the lock and Maximised there still was no message. I reconnected the Master and took back control. On a second attempt with the CIA open on the back up the "lost connection window appeared. Is this standard behaviour? Should that pop-up have authority to overide the lock.
As the Backup ION only has one monitor it seems to want to auto lock the CIA everytime we put the MAster into a Cue. Is there a way to keep the CIA open on the backup - Im sure you can lock it open?
Many Thanks
