Client saves locally ?

Running a Mac in Parallels with the Widows version of Eos Family OLE in Client with a dongle.  Setup as User 2

All is well but curious if I create a Snapshot on the Client, does it save local ?, or on the master (Ion).

I'd like to create a few snapshots for the LD to move around.

Thanks in advance.

  • Record target lists, such as cues, subs, snapshots, etc record to the show.

I have an Ion (master) and an RVI (user 2).  Snapshots 1 - 4 are screenshots for the Ion (dual screens).  Snapshots 11 - 13 are screenshots for the RVI (single screen).  If I call for snapshot 11 on the Ion, the screen change, but it doesn't translate very well.

Any target list can be accessed/adapted/triggered by any user.  It may not work entirely well . . .

I'm still not entirely clear when you record a show, what happens on the master or client.  I believe if User 2 on a client "Saves" the show, that will save a copy to the local (RVI) drive, as well as the master drive, but I could be wrong on that.

When any user saves the show, a local copy is saved on all attached devices in their local "Show Archive" folder.  For example, when I have everything set up for tech during a ballet or opera with:

    • EOS RPU (primary)
    • EOS console (backup)
    • EOS RVI
    • Client PC

I end up with 4 copies of each version of the show, one on each device.  When a new device comes online, the RPU (since it is primary) sends its "master" copy to that device so that all are in sync with the same file.

Even though there are copies stored on all devices, I have made a habit of loading my "template" file from the RPU (File > Open > Master > ) rather than opening a copy from the local device.  That way I know I'm always getting the latest version- for example, if I had made changes to the template file while the client PC was not connected, the client PC would not have the latest version of the template file.  Loading the template file from the client's local "Show Archive" would result in the client sending its older version of the show to the RPU and the the RPU syncing that old file with the other devices.
